Introduction

A well-established organisation based in the Upper Highway area is seeking an experienced HR Manager to lead and manage the full Human Resources function. This role requires a strong HR professional with solid industrial relations expertise, strategic HR leadership capability, and a deep understanding of South African labour legislationThe successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring a fair, compliant, and effective HR environment while supporting the organisation’s growth and people strategy.

Description

Key Responsibilities

Industrial Relations

  • Ensure fair implementation of the disciplinary code and company policies.
  • Proactively manage IR queries and potential employee relations issues.
  • Provide line managers with up-to-date IR guidance and support.
  • Manage grievances, disciplinary processes, and employee relations matters.
  • Represent the organisation at CCMA and Labour Court when required.
  • Promote and maintain a healthy, compliant IR environment.

Recruitment & Talent Planning

  • Manage the performance and effectiveness of the recruitment function.
  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract top talent.
  • Maintain an accurate recruitment plan aligned to business staffing needs.
  • Ensure recruitment processes align with Employment Equity objectives.

Employment Equity & Compliance

  • Develop, implement, and monitor the company’s Employment Equity Plan.
  • Chair Employment Equity Committee meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with EE legislation and achievement of BBBEE targets.
  • Monitor and report on EE progress and implementation.

Skills Development

  • Identify organisational training and development needs.
  • Develop and manage the Workplace Skills Plan (WSP) and Annual Training Report.
  • Facilitate leadership development, training initiatives, and succession planning.
  • Conduct internal training, coaching, and mentoring where required.
  • Ensure effective induction and onboarding programmes for new employees.

HR Administration & Reporting

  • Maintain and update HR policies, procedures, and compliance documentation.
  • Conduct HR audits and ensure all records are accurate and up to date.
  • Implement and maintain effective HR administration systems.
  • Ensure employee files and records are maintained in line with legislation.
  • Oversee leave management and HR reporting processes.
  • Manage payroll oversight, compensation, and employee benefits in line with company policies and legislation.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Manage and support BBBEE initiatives and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations.
  • Support organisational culture initiatives and change management programmes.

Education Profile

Minimum Requirements

  • Degree in Human Resource Management or Industrial Relations.
  • Minimum 6+ years’ experience in an HR / IR management role.
  • Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation.
  • Proven experience in industrial relations, disciplinary processes, and CCMA matters.
  • Payroll experience is essential.
  • Strong HR strategy and operational management capability.
  • Advanced computer literacy in MS Office (especially Excel).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with employees and leadership at all levels.
  • Valid driver’s licence
