A leading retail supermarket is looking for an experienced Butchery Manager to manage the operations of the butchery department. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing staff, maintaining stock levels, ensuring food safety compliance, and driving profitability within the department.

Description

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the butchery department and plant.
• Manage stock levels and ensure correct product availability.
• Procure quality meat products and maintain strong supplier relationships.
• Monitor financial performance through daily, weekly, and monthly GP reporting.
• Ensure pricing accuracy and proper management of point-of-sale systems.
• Conduct weekly stocktakes and manage inventory effectively.
• Maintain strict hygiene and food safety standards.
• Implement operational procedures to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
• Lead and manage a team of approximately 45 staff members.
• Provide training, coaching, and performance management for staff.
• Ensure excellent customer service and product quality.

Education Profile

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in butchery management, preferably within retail.
• Proven experience managing large teams (30+ staff).
• Strong knowledge of meat production, inventory management, and retail operations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Relevant butchery or food production qualification will be advantageous
