An established retail supermarket is looking for an experienced Fresh Produce Manager to manage the Fruit and Vegetable Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high product standards, managing stock levels, and ensuring the department operates efficiently and profitably.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the Fruit and Vegetable Department to maximise profitability.
• Ensure efficient daily operations within the department.
• Place daily orders and manage product supply according to demand.
• Monitor stock levels, shrinkage, and wastage.
• Conduct weekly stocktakes and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Ensure freshness, quality, and variety of produce.
• Maintain high merchandising standards and attractive displays.
• Ensure the department complies with food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Lead and manage staff, including shift planning and performance supervision.
• Stay updated with product improvements and source the best produce available.

Education Profile

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Fresh Produce management role.
• Retail experience within a Fruit and Vegetable department is essential.
• Strong product knowledge of fresh produce.
• Experience with purchasing and ordering fruit and vegetables.
• Previous staff management and leadership experience.
• Knowledge of Point of Sale systems is advantageous.
