Role Overview

 

Our client is seeking an experienced Take-Away Operations Co-ordinator to oversee all take-away food production processes across its three branches. The successful candidate will standardize and optimize operational processes, maintain consistent food quality, and ensure strict adherence to SOPs, while supporting both central kitchen and branch teams.

 

This role requires strong organizational, leadership, and operational skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to travel between branches as needed.

 

 

Description

Key Responsibilities

 

SOP Development & Enforcement

 

  • Develop, review, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all take-away processes.

     

  • Ensure strict compliance with SOPs across all branches.

     

Recipe Management & Standardization

 

  • Design and document recipes for take-away and home replacement meals.

     

  • Monitor adherence to recipes, portion sizes, and food quality standards.

     

Quality Assurance & Compliance

 

  • Conduct operational audits and quality checks.

     

  • Collaborate with food safety and health officers to ensure compliance with hygiene and regulatory standards.

     

Take-Away Operations Oversight

 

  • Coordinate take-away operations between central kitchen and branches.

     

  • Provide operational guidance to store management and teams.

     

HR Support & Staff Management

 

  • Support hiring, onboarding, and training of take-away staff.

     

  • Monitor attendance, performance, and disciplinary standards.

     

  • Facilitate staff development and skills training programs.

     

Inventory & Supplier Coordination

 

  • Work with procurement to ensure ingredient availability and quality.

     

  • Monitor inventory and minimize waste.

     

Cost Control & Budget Assistance

 

  • Track food costs and recommend efficiency improvements.

     

  • Support operational budgeting for kitchen and take-away functions.

     

Menu Innovation & Seasonal Adaptations

 

  • Propose, test, and implement new or seasonal menu items.

     

  • Ensure recipe standardization across all offerings.

     

Training Program Development

 

  • Develop and deliver training programs to maintain SOP and quality standards.

     

Health, Safety & Hygiene Oversight

 

  • Ensure all take-away and kitchen areas comply with health, safety, and hygiene regulations.

     

  • Promote a culture of safety and cleanliness across teams.

     

Customer Feedback Management

 

  • Monitor and respond to customer feedback regarding take-away products.

     

  • Implement corrective actions and communicate improvements.

     

Reporting & Communication

 

  • Provide operational, quality, and HR performance reports to management.

     

  • Serve as liaison between kitchen, store management, and HR.

     

Technology Utilization & Improvement

 

  • Use or recommend operational tools to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and quality tracking.

     

 

Education Profile

Minimum Requirements

 

  • Grade 12

     

  • Proven experience in take-away, retail food operations, or production coordination.

     

  • Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and operational standards.

     

  • Excellent organizational and team coordination skills.

     

  • Ability to travel between branches (Bluff, Hillcrest, Waterfall).

     

  • Own reliable vehicle for travel between branches

Competencies & Qualities

 

  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.

     

  • Strong leadership and coaching skills without formal managerial authority.

     

  • In-depth knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and SOP compliance.

     

  • Effective communicator and collaborative team player.

     

  • Analytical, data-driven, and proactive problem solver
