Introduction

A leading clothing manufacturering company is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented CAD Marker Maker / Plotter to join its clothing and apparel manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating accurate and efficient production markers, preparing files for cutting and ensuring optimal fabric utilisation while maintaining high levels of accuracy and meeting production deadlines.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience working with Lectra CAD systems, strong knowledge of garment construction and pattern pieces, and a sound understanding of marker efficiency, fabric utilisation and production requirements.

Description

  • Create accurate and efficient production markers according to approved patterns, size ratios and production requirements.
  • Plot and prepare markers for production, ensuring all files are correctly prepared for cutting.
  • Optimise marker layouts to achieve maximum fabric utilisation and minimise fabric wastage.
  • Ensure grainlines, fabric direction, placement requirements and cutting instructions are correctly followed.
  • Accurately interpret patterns, technical specifications and production requirements.
  • Check markers prior to plotting to ensure all pattern pieces, sizes and quantities are correct.
  • Liaise closely with Pattern Makers, Graders, Cutting Room Supervisors and Production teams.
  • Make amendments to markers when patterns, grading or production requirements change.
  • Ensure all work is completed accurately and within agreed production deadlines.
  • Assist with resolving marker, plotting and cutting-related technical issues.
  • Maintain accurate and organised CAD files and production documentation.
  • Follow Company quality standards, production procedures and operational requirements.

Education Profile

  • Previous experience as a Marker Maker, Plotter or CAD Marker Maker within the clothing/apparel manufacturing industry.
  • Proven experience using Lectra CAD software, including Diamino and/or Modaris.
  • Experience with pattern digitising and grading.
  • Proven experience creating, plotting and preparing production markers.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of garment construction and pattern pieces.
  • Sound understanding of fabric utilisation, fabric widths and fabric consumption.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to identify and resolve technical issues relating to markers, patterns and cutting.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight production deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a production and technical team.
